30th Annual Tournament Rules
Levels of Play: Division One-Two and Three
All players must sign the tournament waiver prior to playing.  Any team that
has a player that has not signed the waiver can not participate in any game
(s). Failure to comply will result in a team forfeit for each match. No
exceptions.

The Games this year will follow U S V A guidelines. Certain rules have been modified for this
Volleyball For Charity Tournament. Please note the following highlighted Rules of Play:

  • Rally or Speed Scoring will be used for all games.

  • Games are timed during Pool play. Each game during pool play is 15 minutes or first
    team to 25 points.

  • Games are not timed for Playoffs. Each game will end at first team to 25 points and has
    a winning margin by two points.  Games have a 30 point cap.

  • On a serve, a ball contacting and crossing the net within the legal boundaries of the court
    or a let serve will be considered in play.

  • Legal contact is a touch of the ball by a player's body above and including the waist,
    which does not allow the ball to visibly come to rest, or prolonged contact with a player's
    body.

  • A back row player may come to the net for defensive purposes only! A back row player
    shall not leave their feet to contact the ball offensively. There will be no libero in this
    tournament.
  • Teams which are leading in the last minute of play may not call a time-out.
  • This is a COED tournament. A full team is comprised of six players on the court, usually
    three women and three men.  You must have at least five players on the court at all
    times. You can have no more than 3 men on the court at all times. There can be as many
    women  up to 6 on the court for a full team. Teams not able to field at least five players in
    accordance with the guidelines above forfeit their scheduled game.  Forfeit time is game
    time.

For the CHARITY-(JUST FOR FUN) Division.
By the tournament guideline definition, this division is for teams wanting to
play recreational volleyball with minimal spiking. Please remember and
respect this guideline. Thank you.
